There's news, guys!

I have a job interview this coming Tuesday when I get of work.

Yes, I have a job. I just need to get away from that job.

In my younger years, I decided that working for more money was the way to go. So, I took labor jobs. I've always been a large, sturdy woman (5'10", outdoorsy, weightlifter) and figured I could handle it.

Here I am after a mere decade of labor jobs (and maybe the weightlifting helped) with bursitis in both hips and both shoulders. If you don't know what bursitis is, you are a lucky soul. In the simplest terms, it's an inflammation of the joints. It also tends to extend into the tendons and muscles, and it generally just makes your body old before it's actually old.

Faced with the promise of mobility issues in the much-too-near future, I have been advised by a few health professionals to "get out of labor, and never go back". So, now I have to choose my health (and comfort) over money. Basically, for $18 and hour, I have put my body on the path to being crippled before I reach old age. It's not a pretty prospect.

The good news is that I have an interview coming up for a clerical position. Full time, health benefits, retirement options, and no heavy lifting. All for a rate of pay that I can live on.

So, if you pray, please pray for me. Lord willing, this next week will be my last week in labor.

Now, I don't THINK a job change would interrupt my writing and posting. In fact, I suspect that not having to come home from work and ice my joints daily would give me more time (and motivation) to do my creative work. That doesn't mean that there would never be a hiccup or two in the beginning, or that I would never have to work overtime. So, if there are a few bumps in the road in the next two weeks, just be patient. I will get the kinks ironed out quickly, and be right back on schedule.
