Far into the future, mankind has abandoned Earth and taken to the stars. Earth is now a military installation, where no civilians dwell. In the cold reaches of space, humanity has faced war with itself, splintering into many factions, only to war again. Alien races have become known, some quick to befriend humans, others content to ignore them.
The newest generation of children are born with extraordinary abilities, garnering the attention of other races who previously avoided humanity. The victor of the last great war ruled unchallenged for nearly three decades, until something unimaginable swam out of the dark reaches of space to threaten all mankind.
Now our galaxy must join together to fight an enemy like none they have faced before. Terrifying creatures with no pity or mercy emerge from the darkness of the cosmos with one purpose; to annihilate human kind. Their concept of war is unfathomable. They devour their enemies alive in great, shrieking swarms, along with their own wounded. They make no demands. They transmit no communications. They desire no peace.
How do we fight such horror? What allies will come to our aid? When our greatest weapons fail to stem the tide of cold-blooded flesh and fangs, what can save us?
Perhaps it is the children, born with unexplainable abilities. Maybe ancient races who have faced this foe in their pasts and survived will look to aid us. Possibly, the mettle and faith of the remnants of Old Earth's long ago disbanded special forces. Who can know?
Dogs of War tells the epic tale of those who make this fight against the bleakest foe that the cosmos has to offer. Follow an array of characters from many different sides of the fight who are drawn together by a single cause.
